The druid city

Co-Director, cinematographer, Producer, EDitor

In 2011, Tuscaloosa, AL was hit with an EF4 tornado that tore a mile-and-a-half wide path of destruction thorough the town. Homes were ripped off of their foundation, businesses were leveled, and 64 people lost their lives in an event that lasted a matter of minutes. A robust city densely covered in trees was laid barren, massive trunks mixed in with cares and the frames of houses. But in a time of immense tragedy, the community bound together to comfort each other and rebuild what was lost. In The Druid City, first responders, community leaders, families, students, and victims of the storm give their first-hand account of what it was like the day of the tornado and the resilience and faith required to rebuild in the months and years following.
