WESTMINSTER DOG SHOW

Madison Square Garden plays host to every kind of competition throughout the year. Hockey, basketball, professional bull riding - they all have their place under the dome in midtown Manhattan. No event, however, seems to be as lavish as the annual Westminster Dog Show. The top pooches from around the country come to NYC and get primped and preened for two days in hopes of  taking home the coveted Best in Show. Movies have been made parodying the intense and often hysterical antics of these dogs and their slightly obsessive owners, but the love and respect they have for their canines is unparalleled. I was fortunate enough to shoot the 2011 event for Sports Illustrated with images published in the Leading Off section of the magazine.
